Our massage modalities and philosophy

Many people see massage as a luxury but it can be just the thing you need to get past a pain, help maintain your level of physical activity or to help counter-balance our daily desk posture. If you are diligent at getting your vehicle’s oil changed then a massage should be considered similar maintenance for your body.

There are many modalities under the umbrella of massage therapy. Cranial sacral therapy, deep tissue massage, lymph drainage, myofascial massage, neuromuscular therapy, prenatal massage, rolfing, shiatsu, sports massage and swedish massage just to name a few. Many of these modalities are combined in one session to provide the most benefit for the patient.

My work is a blend of many different modalities (mostly Soft Tissue Manipulation, Deep Tissue and Swedish). First, visual assessment, movement, and detailed questions allow me to identify specific needs to gain the most from your bodywork session. Most massage sessions are oriented toward specific injury treatment or addressing a specific issue/concern. However, not all sessions need to have a treatment goal, relaxation and stress relief can be the focus of your massage session.

If it is myofascial and neuromuscular therapy you are seeking, we team up with Integrative Massage of Boulder and Rebecca Rice-Wilson.
