Kim was certified in Pilates by Master Teacher Romana Kryzanowska, one of the few remaining original students of Joseph Pilates, at The Pilates Studio. Kim's own body/mind discipline began early with the rigorous training she did while obtaining her Dance Performance degree from Ball State University.
In the ten years that Kim has been teaching Pilates, she has developed an innovative teaching style that makes her uniquely qualified to work with students of all levels. She has special skill in training amateur and professional athletes, to whom she ensures that they will achieve a level of core strength unmatched by any other physical discipline. Kim’s enthusiasm for the benefits of Pilates for fitness enthusiasts and those beginning their journey to wellness is unwavering. Many of her clients have been injured in accidents and she can testify to the rehabilitative power of the combination of Pilates and Massage. She has witnessed its power in the lives of her students and together they have witnessed growth on many levels physical, emotional, spiritual.
Pilates instruction under Kim’s guidance is for those individuals who seek the best in training not only for the body, but also for the mind and spirit.
In addition to Pilates certification, Kim is a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) who graduated from Healing Spirits Massage School in Boulder, Colorado. Her work focuses on supporting the body’s structural framework to enable efficient movement in one’s daily life. From her perspective, the body, mind, and spirit are intertwined with Mother Earth; therefore Kim uses natural oils, lotions and herbs in her practice.
Kim enjoys the ritual of creating a sacred and therapeutic space for her clients so that they receive the full benefits of her unique approach to bodywork. She continues to augment her massage training with coursework focusing in Lymph Drainage Therapy. Kim is convinced that the natural integration between Pilates and massage is a partnership between the body, mind, and spirit.
